Kalthum Foundation for Peace (KFP) is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization founded in 2015 and formally established on 10th December 2016 by Kalthum Muhammad Rabiu. The organization focuses on promoting the rights of the girl child and countering violent extremism in Northeast Nigeria.

KFP is seeking a qualified Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) to support the delivery of primary healthcare services in underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:
The CHEW will provide basic healthcare services under the supervision of a Senior Community Health Extension Worker. Duties include conducting health assessments, recording vital signs, and delivering health education to community members. The role involves supporting immunization campaigns, child health initiatives, and disease prevention programs.

The successful candidate will carry out home visits and community outreach activities to promote healthy behaviors. They will administer basic treatments and medications according to established protocols, maintain accurate and confidential medical records, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive service delivery.

Additional responsibilities include participating in training programs, monitoring community health trends, organizing health education sessions, providing counseling on preventive care, and referring complex cases to appropriate health facilities.

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Junior Community Health Extension Worker with a valid CHPRBN license
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work in rural/outskirt communities
  • Ability to work independently when required
  • Mature, approachable, and trustworthy personality
  • Fluency in English, Hausa, and Kanuri

The organization is recruiting a Senior Community Health Extension Worker (SCHEW) to provide leadership and technical oversight for community-based healthcare interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
The SCHEW will diagnose and treat common medical conditions in line with CHPRBN standing orders and protocols. Responsibilities include delivering maternal and child health services such as antenatal, postnatal, and reproductive healthcare.

The role involves supervising and mentoring Community Health Extension Workers, ensuring quality healthcare delivery, and coordinating community health programs including outreach, immunization, and screening activities. The SCHEW will manage medical logistics, cold chain systems, sterilization processes, and basic laboratory tests.

Additional duties include monitoring stock levels of medical supplies, analyzing health data for program improvement, ensuring compliance with national health policies, and engaging with community leaders to strengthen health interventions. The SCHEW will also conduct supervision visits, evaluate staff performance, and support training initiatives.
