POSITION OBJECTIVE
ACE Group is seeking a Senior Programs Analyst to lead defined workstreams in the design, delivery, monitoring, and continuous improvement of public health programmes and strategic initiatives in Kano and across Nigeria.
Reporting to the Senior Associate, Programs, the successful candidate will provide technical and analytical leadership across research, programme implementation, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.
The role also involves supervising junior staff and ensuring the quality of outputs that contribute to organizational learning and programme impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead one or more programme workstreams from planning through implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Structure and lead literature reviews, desk research, and evidence synthesis to inform programme design and technical strategy.
- Lead the preparation of technical deliverables, including proposals, reports, presentations, briefs, and knowledge products.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across technical outputs.
- Oversee project monitoring, including work plans, trackers, implementation records, and performance data.
- Analyze and synthesize complex programme and research data and develop structured, evidence-based recommendations.
- Review and quality-assure data, analysis, and reports produced by Analysts and Officers.
- Provide constructive technical and professional feedback to junior team members.
- Lead and coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements, including logistics and follow-up.
- Coach and supervise junior staff while supporting their technical and professional development.
- Track programme progress against agreed indicators and escalate risks, delays, and implementation challenges.
- Contribute to quality-checking periodic reports, implementation updates, and client or donor communications.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with government agencies, partners, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Represent ACE Group confidently in client, partner, and donor meetings and discussions.
- Support Associates and Senior Associates with project planning, budgeting, and proposal development.
- Uphold data quality, confidentiality, and ACE Group’s professional standards across all workstreams.
- Provide technical, operational, and strategic support for organizational priorities and other assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
- 4–6 years of relevant professional experience in health research, public health programmes, development, or consulting.
- Experience in supervision or workstream leadership.
- Experience in clinical research, implementation science, or maternal, newborn, and child health is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to independently structure and execute moderately complex analyses and research activities.
- Strong understanding of health systems strengthening, research administration, or evidence-to-policy work.
- Familiarity with the Nigerian health system.
- Experience working with academic institutions, government agencies, non-profit organizations, or similar institutions.
- Willingness to travel within Kano State and surrounding areas when required by project needs.

- Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and reviewing junior staff.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive institutional, client, and research information.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
- Strong initiative, adaptability, and flexibility in a fast-paced professional environment.
