The Nigeria BOGA (Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance) Fund Programme supports Nigeria’s transition toward a diversified, low-carbon economy.
It is led by the National Council on Climate Change in partnership with Africa Policy Research Institute, focusing on research, policy development, and stakeholder engagement to drive a just energy transition.
📌 Role Overview
The Advisor will work closely with the NCCC leadership, providing strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and executive support.
You will help translate complex technical work into clear, decision-ready outputs and support high-level engagements across government, private sector, and international partners.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
🔹 Executive Support & Advisory
- Prepare briefs, speeches, talking points, and presentations
- Support leadership in high-level meetings and engagements
- Translate research into actionable insights
- Track decisions, commitments, and follow-ups
🔹 Strategic Communications
- Develop messaging, media briefs, FAQs, and reports
- Support programme visibility and public positioning
- Coordinate communication around key events and milestones
🔹 Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with government, donors, private sector, and civil society
- Coordinate consultations, meetings, and partnerships
- Maintain stakeholder maps and engagement plans
🔹 Programme Coordination
- Track programme progress, risks, and milestones
- Support reporting and knowledge management
- Monitor developments in climate policy and energy transition
🎓 Requirements
- Master’s degree in Communications, Public Policy, International Development, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in communications, public affairs, or advisory roles
- Experience working with senior government or development partners
- Strong writing, research, and presentation skills
- Knowledge of climate policy, energy transition, or economic diversification (advantage)

This role supports Nigeria’s transition to a net-zero economy by 2060, aligning with national frameworks like the Energy Transition Plan and Climate Change Act.
The programme is implemented in collaboration with the National Council on Climate Change and Africa Policy Research Institute, focusing on critical minerals, green industrialisation, and economic diversification.
📌 Role Overview
The Research Officer will provide policy research, data analysis, and technical advisory support to integrate Nigeria’s critical minerals sector into climate planning and industrial strategy.
You will work closely with government institutions and stakeholders to drive evidence-based decision-making and policy coherence.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
🔹 Research & Analysis
- Conduct research on critical minerals, energy transition, and industrial policy
- Track policy, regulatory, and global supply chain developments
- Produce policy briefs, memos, reports, and analytical outputs
- Translate technical findings into actionable recommendations
🔹 Institutional Support & Coordination
- Support capacity strengthening across MDAs
- Improve alignment across climate, industrial, and minerals policies
- Coordinate with key institutions (e.g., ministries, agencies, regulators)
🔹 Stakeholder Engagement
- Map and engage stakeholders across public & private sectors
- Support high-level policy dialogues and convenings
- Document consultations and integrate insights into outputs
🎓 Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Environmental Studies, Energy Policy, or related field
- Minimum 4 years experience in research, advisory, or policy roles
- Strong understanding of Nigeria’s climate, energy, or extractives sector
- Experience working with government or public-sector institutions
