Multiple Vacancies – FHI 360 UK-Nigeria (Borno State, Nigeria)

FHI 360 UK-Nigeria, part of the global FHI 360 network, is a humanitarian and development organization delivering integrated health, nutrition, WASH, and protection interventions across Northeast Nigeria. In response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis affecting internally displaced persons (IDPs), the organization is expanding its operations in Borno State and recruiting qualified professionals for the following roles:

1. Assistant Technical Officer, Nurse/Midwife

Location: Damasak, Borno State
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary

The Assistant Technical Officer (Nurse/Midwife) will provide comprehensive nursing and midwifery care, including antenatal, delivery, and postnatal services, ensuring quality healthcare delivery to vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing and midwifery care in line with medical protocols
  • Support antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care services
  • Conduct patient triage and emergency first aid
  • Assist in medical consultations and procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records and reports
  • Support infection prevention and control measures
  • Participate in community outreach and health education
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support capacity building

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Nursing or Midwifery with 1–3 years post-NYSC experience
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with a valid practicing license (mandatory)
  • Experience in clinical or maternity settings (preferred)
  • Knowledge of local languages (Hausa, Kanuri, Fula, etc.) is an advantage
  • Willingness to work in remote and challenging environments

2. Accountant

Location: Maiduguri, Borno State
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary

The Accountant will support financial management, reporting, and compliance for project activities, ensuring adherence to donor and organizational financial standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems
  • Support preparation of monthly and annual financial reports
  • Monitor budgets and project expenditures
  • Process cash advances, petty cash, and reimbursements
  • Assist with audits and donor reporting
  • Develop and maintain financial spreadsheets and budgets
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ relevant experience in accounting
  • Experience with NGOs or USAID-funded projects is an advantage
  • Professional certifications (CPA, ACA, ICAN) are an added advantage
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills
