New Incentives is a nonprofit organization that provides small incentives to caregivers to encourage infant immunization, while increasing awareness of the health benefits of childhood vaccinations.
Job Summary
The Logistics Officer manages the organization’s assets including storing, repairing, retrieving, and issuing devices to staff. The role also oversees distribution of field supplies to clinics and Local Government Areas within the state.
Key Responsibilities
Field Supplies Management and Distribution
Develop opportunities to engage religious and community leaders to create goodwill for the ABAE intervention
Upload all procured field supplies into the distribution app with accurate quantities as stated in the purchase order
Distribute supplies to all LGAs and clinics within the state in a timely manner
Maintain proper storage conditions to protect the safety and quality of supplies
Establish minimum stock levels and promptly record stock movements to prevent shortages
Coordinate with Field Operations Support to ensure logistical needs are met efficiently
Ensure all Purchase Orders are signed according to quantities delivered and uploaded via the distribution app
Confirm completeness of supplies upon arrival in the driver’s presence and ensure accountability for missing items
Complete weekly stock reporting forms
Provide logistical support in identifying and negotiating with vendors
Quality Assurance
Increase awareness of SERICC and promote the NI ABAE initiative
Verify the quality of procured supplies upon receipt and return damaged items to vendors
Conduct regular spot checks to confirm supplies reach intended end users
Follow up with staff who fail to confirm distributions within one week
ORS Management
Verify expiry dates at procurement and reject items with less than one year shelf life
Complete quality assessment checks within 48 hours of procurement
Track and prioritize items with earlier expiry dates
Implement First In First Out stock rotation
Store ORS in a cool, dry place as specified by the manufacturer
Logistical Support and Response
Respond to logistical challenges such as supply delays or emergency material requests
Coordinate with line managers and HR to retrieve devices and assets from outgoing staff
Collect old devices from staff issued new ones
Asset Storage Requirements
Maintain a secure storage location for ORS and consignments accessible for auditing
Storage must have no history of burglary, robbery, theft, flooding, roof leakages, sanitary or fire risks
Security team must assess and approve the storage space
Notify the security team in advance if storage location changes
Education and Work Experience
Minimum of a Diploma preferably in Social Science, Business Administration, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience preferably in an NGO
Experience in asset management is an advantage
Professional qualifications in the NGO sector are advantageous
Skills and Competencies
Nigerian national currently based in Niger State
Fluency in Hausa and relevant local dialects
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Experience in collecting and distributing items
Strong record keeping ability
Excellent communication skills in English and Hausa
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, internet browsers, smartphones, and communication technology
Hard working, result oriented, and adaptable to a lean and evolving organization
Language Requirement
Proficiency in English language required
Knowledge of Nupe or other commonly spoken local languages in Niger State is an advantage
