Job Opportunity: Medical Laboratory Technician

MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices is a results-driven social enterprise focused on expanding access to reproductive healthcare services across underserved communities in Nigeria. As part of the global Marie Stopes International network operating in over 37 countries, the organization delivers high-quality, client-centered services through multiple service channels nationwide.

The organization is currently seeking a qualified and dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician to join its clinical team in Utako, Abuja (FCT) and Surulere, Lagos.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sample collection, laboratory analysis, and supporting daily laboratory operations to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic services. The role also involves maintaining high standards of patient care, ensuring compliance with clinic policies, and contributing to a safe and professional healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and process patient samples (blood, urine, stool, and swabs) following standard procedures
• Ensure proper labelling, handling, and documentation of specimens
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of laboratory and sample collection areas
• Enter and manage data using the Laboratory Information System
• Support inventory management and ensure availability of laboratory supplies
• Assist clinicians during examinations and provide patient support where required
• Maintain accurate patient records and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards
• Address client feedback and support effective communication with stakeholders

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical laboratory practice
• HND in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Certification or training in Microbiology or Haematology is an added advantage
• Basic computer literacy and strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication, professionalism, and patient care skills
