The International Rescue Committee invites applications from qualified and passionate individuals for the role of VAWG Psychological First Aid Assistant in Monguno Nigeria. Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein the organization is globally recognized for responding to humanitarian crises and supporting vulnerable populations to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
This full time position focuses on delivering frontline psychosocial support to women and girls affected by distress violence and crisis particularly in communities impacted by conflict including those affected by Boko Haram activities. The successful candidate will provide Psychological First Aid facilitate structured psychosocial support sessions and ensure timely referrals to health mental health nutrition and protection services.
Applicants are expected to identify vulnerable individuals support access to essential services and conduct community awareness activities that promote well being health seeking behavior and gender based violence prevention. The role also requires maintaining accurate confidential records and contributing to program reporting in line with organizational standards.
Candidates should possess a Diploma or Degree in Psychology Social Work Public Health Nursing or a related field with at least 1 to 2 years relevant experience in humanitarian or health related programming. Strong communication skills confidentiality professionalism and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Fluency in English and Hausa is required while knowledge of Kanuri or other local languages is an added advantage.
