Position Summary
The Trees Specialist will lead the design and scaling of agroforestry initiatives aimed at improving farmer outcomes through tree based interventions. The role focuses on developing sustainable solutions that enhance tree planting survival rates and farmer adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Trial Design
The specialist leads the design and planning of operational trials focused on seedling production planting techniques and survival rates. The role includes conducting species matching to ensure appropriate tree selection for different locations. Responsibilities include defining trial objectives protocols and data collection plans while developing project timelines budgets and performance tracking systems. The specialist analyzes trial results and provides recommendations to guide program strategy and species selection.
Field Execution
The role oversees program implementation across regions ensuring quality standards and timelines are met. The specialist works closely with field teams and farmers to understand challenges improve delivery and support program goals. Responsibilities include leading seed aggregation trials managing operational risks and ensuring availability of planting materials.
Farmer Experience
The specialist leads behavior change initiatives to improve farmer practices and adoption of tree planting. The role includes conducting field assessments identifying operational improvements and refining farmer support systems including training tools and incentives.
Cross Team Collaboration
The role collaborates with internal teams across market access business innovation and program units to align field insights with strategic objectives. The specialist supports cross departmental initiatives related to nursery management species development and farmer education.
Team Training and Management
The specialist develops and delivers training programs for field teams to strengthen performance and impact. The role includes recruitment coordination performance management and team supervision. The specialist sets clear goals monitors performance and promotes a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements
Candidates must have at least three years relevant professional experience including team leadership. Applicants must hold a university degree in agriculture forestry development studies environmental science or a related field.
Technical Skills
