Action Against Hunger is recruiting a Nutrition and Health Programme Manager to support its operations in Damaturu Yobe State. The organization is a global leader in combating hunger and malnutrition, delivering life saving interventions across multiple countries.
The Programme Manager will lead the implementation of nutrition and health projects in line with donor requirements and organizational standards. The role involves managing project implementation plans, supervising field teams, coordinating with government health authorities, and ensuring high quality service delivery across supported health facilities. The position also requires oversight of data collection systems, needs assessments, reporting, and integration of nutrition services into primary health care.
The successful candidate will support capacity building, organize staff trainings, manage team performance, and contribute to strategic planning and program development. The role also includes budget monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and representation in coordination meetings at state and local government levels.
Applicants must possess a Master’s Degree in Public Health or a related field with at least 5 years experience in nutrition program management. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Public Health Food Science or related disciplines with similar experience may also apply. Strong reporting skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and fluency in Hausa are preferred. Experience working in fragile or insecure environments is essential.
