Malaria Consortium is recruiting for the position of LGA Field Assistant to support the implementation of community-level health interventions in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

The organization works across Africa and Asia using evidence-based strategies to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
Purpose of the Role
The LGA Field Assistant will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the Mass Drug Administration (MDA) of Azithromycin (AZM) at the Local Government Area (LGA) level. The role also involves coordinating reverse logistics, training activities, and community engagement to ensure effective delivery of health interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation of AZM Mass Drug Administration across assigned LGAs
- Coordinate last-mile distribution of drugs and supplies from central medical stores to health facilities
- Assist in training Health Facility Workers (HFWs) and Community Drug Distributors (CDDs)
- Support social and behaviour change (SBC) activities within communities
- Monitor program implementation and report issues related to digital health tools and compliance
- Provide administrative and logistical support for data collection and reporting
- Assist in coordinating payment and documentation for field personnel
- Engage with LGA authorities, health facility staff, and community leaders to ensure smooth implementation
Working Relationships
The LGA Field Assistant will work closely with:
- Program Officers and M&E Officers
- State Ministry of Health teams
- LGA management teams
- Health Facility Workers (HFWs) and Community Drug Distributors (CDDs)
- Traditional and community leaders
Requirements
- Degree or qualification in Science, Social Sciences, or Public Health-related fields
- Minimum of 2 years’ field experience in public health, logistics, or M&E
- Strong communication skills in English and Hausa/Fulani (additional local languages an advantage)
- Experience in supply chain management, data collection, or field supervision
- Familiarity with KoboCollect, SurveyCTO, and Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders including government and community actors
