The organization works closely with local communities, clinics, and government stakeholders to expand access and improve vaccination coverage.
Job Summary
The Human Resources Officer supports the HR Manager in all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, staff benefits and compensation, performance management, and training. The role is ideal for someone with at least 3 years of HR experience, detail-oriented, process-driven, and adaptable to managing HR systems in a dynamic NGO environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment (30%)
- Assist in field officer (FO) selection and conduct in-person interviews at the LGA level
- Lead in-person interviews of shortlisted candidates with local teams
- Escalate gaps or noncompliance to HR Manager
- Liaise with SR unit and community leaders to recruit local talent
- Promote job ads on social media and professional networks
- Schedule interviews, conduct reference and background checks
- Provide feedback for concluded recruitment exercises
- Maintain recruitment tracking using GSheets
2. Onboarding, Benefits & Compensation (40%)
- Ensure new employees complete pension and NHF registration
- Assist in new office account opening during onboarding
- Liaise with PFAs, NHF, NSITF, and tax offices for remittances
- Conduct physical training sessions for new hires
3. Administration (30%)
- Maintain up-to-date employee records
- Review leave applications on Zoho and ensure proper documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Manager
Requirements
Education & Experience
- BSc or BA in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or equivalent
- 2–5 years in general HR functions
- 1–2 years in NGOs, non-profits, or (I)NGOs preferred
- Residing in target locations is an advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Detail-oriented and diligent
- Process-driven with knowledge of legal and logistics processes
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Cultural awareness and ability to work in multicultural environments
- Leadership and managerial capabilities
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality results
- Excellent communication skills in English, Hausa, and local dialects
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and ICT tools
- Motivated to work in a dynamic, lean, and young organization
Language Requirement
- Fluent in English (spoken, reading, and writing)
- Knowledge of Hausa, Nupe, or other local languages is an advantage
