JOB SUMMARY
International Medical Corps is recruiting a Dispensing Pharmacist to dispense medicines and medical commodities to beneficiaries, provide patient counselling, and maintain accurate records of pharmaceutical stock movement and consumption.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Dispense medicines to beneficiaries and provide appropriate counselling and instructions on their use.
Issue medicines to health facility wards and maintain accurate distribution records where applicable.
Arrange and manage medicines and medical commodities according to national and internationally accepted pharmaceutical standards.
Apply First Expire First Out FEFO procedures and properly maintain bin cards, stock cards, registers and other inventory records.
Monitor expiration dates, stock levels, cleanliness and re-order thresholds.
Maintain daily, weekly and monthly medicine consumption records and submit reports on time.
Prepare replenishment requests to prevent stockouts and ensure continuous availability of essential medicines.
Monitor over-utilized and under-utilized medicines and adjust requests accordingly.
Report pending stockouts, damaged medicines, expired commodities and other irregularities promptly.
Conduct regular checks of medicine expiry dates and immediately report expired products to the appropriate supervisor.
Provide health education and promotion to beneficiaries on appropriate medicine use and adherence.
Supervise junior pharmacists or pharmacy assistants when applicable.
Conduct periodic and annual inventories of pharmaceuticals and medical commodities.
Prepare required reports, including narcotic and psychotropic medicine consumption reports and expired medical commodity reports.
Collaborate with other departments to support smooth implementation and integration of services.
Follow administrative directives relating to work schedules, record keeping, patient communication and pharmaceutical restocking.
Comply with the International Medical Corps Code of Conduct and internationally accepted humanitarian principles.
Maintain respectful and culturally sensitive relationships with colleagues and community members.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
At least 1 year of relevant experience in dispensing.
Registration with the Ministry of Health MOH.
Basic understanding and communication ability in English.
Knowledge of national and regional languages.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Good oral and written communication skills in the local language.
Ability to take initiative and work effectively as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
