ABOUT CDD WEST AFRICA
The Centre for Democracy and Development West Africa CDD West Africa is an independent, non profit and non partisan think and do tank working across West Africa.
The organization provides strategic analysis, project management, technical advisory support, capacity strengthening and advocacy in democratic and economic governance, human rights, peacebuilding, security sector transformation and sustainable development.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Programme Officer will support the Head of Programmes in leading programme teams, strengthening delivery systems, supporting resource mobilisation and ensuring that programmes are evidence based, impactful and aligned with CDD West Africa’s objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support programme leadership, planning, priority setting, internal communication and alignment with organizational objectives.
Lead assigned projects from design through implementation and reporting while ensuring timely, compliant and high quality delivery within approved workplans and budgets.
Support resource mobilisation through the development of concept notes, proposals, budgets, workplans and donor engagement materials.
Provide technical guidance and quality assurance to staff, consultants and partners.
Strengthen monitoring, evaluation, learning and research through data analysis, documentation, publications and evidence based programme adaptation.
Build and maintain productive relationships with government institutions, civil society organizations, development partners, researchers and communities.
Represent CDD West Africa at meetings, workshops, policy dialogues and public engagements as delegated.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Master’s Degree in Political Science, Political Sociology, Development Studies, Public Policy, Law, International Relations, Governance, Peace and Conflict Studies or a related field.
A higher degree or relevant certification in programme or project management will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 7 years progressive experience in programme design, democratic governance, public policy, international development, budgeting, resource mobilisation and donor reporting.
Strong leadership, analytical, research, policy writing, stakeholder engagement and results based reporting skills.
Ability to explain complex governance issues clearly to diverse audiences.
Knowledge of French and or Portuguese is an added advantage.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical programme management experience, sound judgement, collaborative working skills and excellent professional communication.
