Since 1863, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been working to preserve human dignity and provide life-saving assistance to people affected by conflict and violence worldwide.
Role Overview:
Under the supervision of the Health Team Leader, the Health Field Officer II will support implementation of health and nutrition activities, including Primary Health Care, disease surveillance, emergency response, and capacity building. The role focuses strongly on nutrition services such as SAM management, OTP, TSFP, and MIYCN interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise Stabilization Centre (SC) services and ensure quality SAM management
• Monitor health & nutrition indicators (admissions, cure rates, mortality, etc.)
• Support training, mentorship, and supervision of health staff
• Strengthen PHC services including maternal and child health, immunization & FP
• Monitor disease outbreaks and support emergency responses
• Coordinate with partners including NRCS, NGOs, and health authorities
Requirements:
• Degree in Medicine, Nursing, or Midwifery
• Master’s in Public Health (added advantage)
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience (especially in emergencies)
• Valid practicing license
• Fluent in English & Hausa
• Strong reporting and computer skills
