COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Smart Aid Initiative is seeking a creative, dynamic and result driven professional to join its team as a Communications Officer to lead organisational visibility and drive the communication strategy.
Location: Kaduna State, Nigeria
Duration: Full-time
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the development and implementation of communications and visibility strategy.
Develop monthly and project-specific communications calendars aligned with programme activities, campaigns, advocacy priorities, commemorative days and organisational objectives.
Lead execution of communication plans for projects, newsletters, websites, reports, campaigns, fellowships and press engagements.
Coordinate storytelling to support organisational credibility, public engagement, partnerships and policy influence.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Digital Media or a related discipline.
2 to 4 years of relevant experience in non-profit or development sector communications, media, public relations, digital content, nonprofit storytelling, advocacy communication or social media management.
Strong experience writing and editing public-facing content in clear and professional English.
Demonstrated experience managing organisational social media and digital media.
Familiarity with design and content tools such as Canva, Adobe applications, CapCut or similar platforms is an added advantage.
Understanding of ethical storytelling, informed consent, safeguarding, data protection, copyright and responsible representation.
