Field Enumerator Recruitment – Weekly Monitoring Survey (Kano & Kaduna States)

Edge Research Services is currently recruiting qualified and motivated individuals to fill the position of Field Enumerator for an ongoing weekly monitoring survey. This survey is designed to assess the effectiveness and reach of a Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) campaign across selected communities. The role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about data collection and community engagement.

Project Locations:

Kano State and Kaduna State

Number of Positions Available:

Six (6) Field Enumerators per state

Project Duration:

Six (6) months, with the possibility of extension based on individual performance and project needs

Job Summary

The Field Enumerator will play a key role in the successful implementation of a weekly household monitoring survey. The primary responsibility involves conducting rapid household listings and administering structured quantitative questionnaires within designated Primary Sampling Units (PSUs) across various senatorial districts.

Enumerators will be expected to gather accurate and reliable data that will help measure how effectively the SBCC campaign is reaching target populations. This role requires a high level of commitment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in field settings.

Successful candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, particularly fluency in both English and Hausa, and must be available for the full duration of the project.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct household listing and data collection activities within assigned PSUs
Administer structured questionnaires using approved survey tools
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of collected data
Submit data in a timely manner using digital platforms
Engage respectfully and professionally with community members
Follow all field protocols, ethical guidelines, and data protection standards
Travel to assigned locations, including remote or hard-to-reach areas
Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project targets

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Demonstrate oral and written fluency in both English and Hausa
Possess strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality data collection
Be available to work for the entire six-month project duration
Have the ability to travel frequently and work in rural or remote communities
Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills
Be capable of working under minimal supervision while maintaining productivity

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should have any of the following:

A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, or any related field

Additional Competencies (Preferred but not Mandatory)

Prior experience in field data collection or survey implementation
Familiarity with digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox or SurveyCTO
Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders
Strong organizational and time management skills
Adaptability and resilience in dynamic field environments
