MSI Reproductive Choices is currently recruiting qualified candidates for the position of Data Assistant across multiple states in Nigeria, including Abia, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara. This contract-based role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to contribute to data-driven health interventions within a globally recognized organization committed to reproductive health and rights.

The Data Assistant will play a critical role in supporting Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities at both regional and state levels. Working closely with Regional Research Monitoring and Evaluation Officers (RMEOs), the successful candidate will help strengthen data systems and ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of program data.

Key responsibilities include supporting routine data quality audits by reviewing source documents and validating reported data across facilities. The role also involves maintaining proper archival systems for source documents, ensuring both physical and electronic records are well-organized and accessible. Additionally, the Data Assistant will track the distribution and usage of data collection tools (DCTs), ensuring accountability and preventing stockouts.

The candidate will also support commodity consumption reconciliation processes, helping to verify and align stock usage data at facility level. Capacity building is another important aspect of the role, as the Data Assistant will assist in training service providers on data tools and provide on-the-job mentoring to improve data management practices. Other responsibilities include supporting in-reach monitoring activities, contributing to performance reviews, and assisting with monthly and routine reporting to ensure data accuracy and zero errors.

This role requires candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or HND in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, along with at least one year of experience in health information systems within government or NGO settings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with platforms such as ODK, Kobo Collect, and DHIS2 will be an added advantage. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and knowledge of local communities and languages are essential.

The position is part-time in nature, requiring 13 working days per month, with standard working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Applicants must be willing to travel within assigned locations and should select their preferred location during the application process.
