Role Overview
The Data Assistants will work closely with the Regional Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers to strengthen the implementation of monitoring and evaluation objectives and strategies at the regional and state levels.
Key Responsibilities
• Support data quality audit activities at state and facility levels by reviewing source documents and validating reported data
• Support routine data quality audits to expand coverage
• Assist with the archiving and filing of source documents at state and regional offices
• Track issuance and usage of data collection tools across service delivery points
• Support commodity consumption reconciliation across service channels
• Assist with training and capacity building on data collection tools for service providers and team members
• Conduct in-reach monitoring at service delivery points
• Support performance reviews, data reporting and other assigned tasks
Expected Deliverables
• Support data audit activities and validation of reported data
• Dissemination of data review and audit findings
• Archiving and proper filing of source documents
• Tracking of data management tools to ensure timely dispatch and zero stockout
• Commodity usage verification and reconciliation at facility level
• Support training activities and mentoring of service providers
• Support stock count at regional and state offices
• Conduct monitoring of in-reaches
• Support monthly data reviews and reports with minimal or zero data errors
Duration of Work
The Data Assistant will work 13 days per month based on an approved work plan.
Daily work hours are from 08:00 AM to 05:30 PM.
Location Requirement
Candidates must be based in and willing to travel within the following communities
Kaba or Lokoja LGA in Kogi State
Suleja and Tunga axis in Niger State
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with health information systems in government or non-governmental organizations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Knowledge of ODK, Kobo Collect or DHIS2 will be an advantage
• Good written and communication skills
• Strong teamwork and ability to work with diverse teams
• Good understanding of the local terrain and local language of the communities
