The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is now accepting applications for its fully funded scholarships for graduates and postgraduates across Sub-Saharan Africa. This prestigious programme supports individuals who are passionate about contributing to sustainable development through teaching, research, and academic excellence.
📌 Objective of the Programme
The DAAD scholarship aims to strengthen higher education systems in Sub-Saharan Africa by supporting talented individuals to pursue development-related Master’s degrees. Scholars are expected to use their knowledge and skills to drive positive change within their home countries and the region at large.
👩🏽🎓 Who Can Apply?
- Graduates and postgraduates from Sub-Saharan Africa
- Applicants with a first degree applying for a Master’s programme
- Individuals intending to build careers in teaching or research
- Candidates applying for:
- In-Country Scholarships (study in home country or country of residence)
- In-Region Scholarships (study in another Sub-Saharan African country)
Women and candidates from underrepresented or disadvantaged groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Up to 2 years, depending on the programme

- Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta – MSc in Physics
🇿🇦 South Africa
- University of Cape Town – MPhil in Urban Studies (Southern Urbanism)
- University of Pretoria – MSc in Mathematics
