Mallam Zaki Fellowship 2026 Third Cohort Call for Applications Bauchi State Nigeria
Applications are now open for the third cohort of the Mallam Zaki Fellowship, a five month leadership and mentorship program designed for young indigenes of Bauchi State.
The fellowship is a competitive leadership development initiative that equips young people with skills in leadership communication advocacy community engagement and content creation. Each year 30 outstanding fellows are selected and trained to become transformative leaders within their communities.
Program Overview
The Mallam Zaki Fellowship was established to develop purpose driven leaders who can contribute meaningfully to community development across Bauchi State. Since 2024 the program has received over 926 applications and graduated 38 fellows across two cohorts. Admission is highly competitive with fewer than 1 in 12 applicants selected annually.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements
Be an indigene of Bauchi State
Be between 18 and 25 years old
Demonstrate passion for leadership and community development
Show commitment to creating positive impact
Be available for the full five month program
Dedicate at least 2 hours weekly for virtual sessions
Be available for a one week physical training in Azare
Program Structure
Selected fellows will participate in
Weekly virtual sessions lasting 2 hours focused on mentorship training and guidance
A one week intensive physical training in Azare covering leadership advocacy communication community development and content creation
Additional Information
Seventy percent of fellowship slots are reserved for indigenes of Katagum Zone including Gamawa Giade Itas Gadau Jamaare Katagum Shira and Zaki while thirty percent are open to applicants from Bauchi Central and Southern Zones
The fellowship is fully funded and free of charge for all selected participants
