Apply to the African Academy for Women in Political Leadership
Are you a woman shaping policy, leading change, or ready to step into political leadership? 🌍✨
In a bold and transformative step toward inclusive governance, UNDP Africa, in partnership with the African School of Governance (ASG), the African Union, and the African Women Leaders Network (AWLN), has launched the first cohort of the African Academy for Women in Political Leadership. This fully funded, continent-wide programme will bring together 30 outstanding women leaders from across Africa who are committed to driving meaningful impact in governance and public service.
The initiative is designed to empower women with the tools, knowledge, and strategic networks required to thrive in high-level political and decision-making spaces. Through a carefully curated curriculum, participants will gain access to world-class training, mentorship from seasoned leaders, and exposure to real-world policy environments. The programme also aims to foster collaboration among emerging and established leaders, creating a strong pipeline of women equipped to influence governance across the continent.
By addressing systemic barriers and amplifying women’s voices in leadership, this academy represents a significant step toward gender equality and inclusive political participation in Africa. It provides a unique platform for women to refine their leadership capabilities, expand their influence, and contribute meaningfully to national, regional, and global development agendas.
Applications are now open to qualified and passionate candidates who are ready to lead change and shape the future of Africa’s political landscape. 🚀
