Applications are now open for the Solutions Journalism Network 2026 Train-the-Trainers (Africa) programme — an exclusive opportunity designed specifically for media professionals across the region.

This initiative builds on the globally recognized Train-the-Trainers model, offering a unique chance for journalists, editors, educators, and media practitioners to gain hands-on expertise in solutions journalism — a powerful approach focused on reporting how people and communities respond to challenges.

✨ What to Expect:
Over the course of five immersive online sessions, participants will:

  • Gain in-depth training in solutions journalism principles
  • Explore the four pillars of the practice
  • Learn how to effectively teach and apply solutions journalism in different contexts
  • Work collaboratively to design training strategies for newsrooms, classrooms, and communities

This Africa-focused cohort highlights the region’s growing influence in solutions-driven storytelling and will be led by an experienced team: Caroline Karobia, Nina Fasciaux, and Chibuike Alagboso, alongside other expert trainers.
