YALE WORLD FELLOWS PROGRAM 2027
Applications are now open for the 2027 Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program at Yale University.
The Yale World Fellows Program is a four-month, full-time residential leadership programme for extraordinary leaders from around the world who have demonstrated significant impact in their communities, countries, or internationally.
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The programme runs annually from mid-August to mid-December at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
Selected World Fellows join a diverse global cohort and participate in seminars, leadership development, networking, research, mentoring, discussions, and activities across Yale.
PROGRAMME BENEFITS
Selected Fellows receive:
- A taxable stipend to cover living expenses in New Haven.
- A modest furnished one or two-bedroom apartment for the duration of the programme.

- Individual and group coaching and skills development.

- Membership in a global network of more than 450 World Fellows across over 100 countries.
PROGRAMME ACTIVITIES
WEEKLY SEMINARS
Fellows participate in discussions where they present their professional work, leadership experiences, and vision for building a better society.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Fellows receive coaching, skills development, opportunities to audit courses, and opportunities for research and collaborative projects.
NETWORKING
Participants build relationships with other Fellows, Yale faculty, students, and professionals from across the world.
HOSTING EVENTS
Fellows share their knowledge and expertise through talks and panels with Yale students and faculty.
MENTORING
World Fellows mentor Yale students who serve as their liaisons throughout the programme.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants should:
- Be between 5 and 25 years into their professional careers.
- Have demonstrated significant accomplishments at the regional, national, or international level.
- Be citizens of a country other than the United States.
- Applicants with dual U.S. citizenship are eligible, although preference is given to candidates whose work is focused outside the United States.
- Be fluent in English.
- Be available to reside at Yale University in New Haven for the entire programme.
There is no minimum or maximum age limit. The average age of a World Fellow is approximately 39.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Applicants should demonstrate:
An established record of extraordinary achievement and integrity.
A commitment to making a positive impact locally, nationally, or internationally.
Potential for future leadership and significant global impact.
Critical, creative, entrepreneurial, and strategic thinking.
A strong likelihood of benefiting from the programme while contributing to Yale’s global perspective.
Commitment to the rigorous full-time programme, including mentoring students and participating frequently in campus activities.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants are required to submit:
- Résumé or CV of maximum 3 pages.
- Personal statement of maximum 600 words.
- Three letters of recommendation.
- Brief video statement.
- $20 application fee.
Applications are submitted entirely online. No paper application is required.
