As the manager of the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Verra is seeking dedicated professionals to ensure the high-integrity and rigorous assessment of projects worldwide.

This is a unique opportunity for climate professionals, auditors, and sustainability experts to contribute to a credible global carbon market while working remotely on a flexible, contract basis.

Role Overview

•  Engagement Type: Remote, Contract-based (Global).

•  Commitment: Minimum of 16 hours per week.

•  Compensation: Paid per project review.

•  Scope of Work: Conduct technical reviews of projects seeking registration or issuance under Verra’s flagship programs, including:

  â€˘  VCS: Verified Carbon Standard.

  â€˘  CCB: Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards.

  â€˘  SD VISta: Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard.

Key Responsibilities

•  Technical Assessment: Review project documentation to ensure compliance with Verra’s standards and specific methodologies.

•  Integrity Assurance: Evaluate the evidence provided for carbon emission reductions or removals, biodiversity protection, and community benefits.

•  Methodology Application: Apply complex VCS methodologies and sector-specific requirements across various industries (e.g., AFOLU, Energy, Waste Management).

•  Quality Control: Identify potential risks or non-conformities in project designs and monitoring reports.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Verra is looking for highly technical professionals who possess:

•  Core Experience: Proven background in carbon project development, environmental auditing, or Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV).

•  Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of VCS methodologies and the global carbon market landscape.

•  Academic Background: A degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.

•  Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with biodiversity conservation, social safeguards, and community impact assessment (CCB and SD VISta).

•  Communication: Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to write clear, concise technical reports in English.
