EBID YOUNG PROFESSIONALS RECRUITMENT PROGRAMME 2026
The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development EBID is inviting applications from qualified young professionals from West African countries and the diaspora for its Young Professionals Recruitment Programme.
This is an opportunity for talented young graduates to gain professional experience within an international financial institution while working across different departments and receiving exposure to the Bank’s policies, programmes and operations.

The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development is an international financial institution owned by West African countries.
EBID is headquartered in Lomé, Togo, and works towards building an economically strong, industrialized and prosperous West Africa that is fully integrated within the regional and global economy.
YOUNG PROFESSIONALS PROGRAMME
The programme is designed for high-calibre young professionals who are not more than 30 years old at the time of recruitment.
Selected candidates will be appointed as Young Trainee Professional Staff under a 2-year fixed-term contract.
The first 6 months will be a probationary period. Candidates whose performance is considered satisfactory during probation may have their appointments converted into open-ended contracts and become permanent members of staff of the Bank.
During the programme, young professionals will rotate through different departments to gain broad knowledge of the Bank’s activities and work under the supervision of senior professionals.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
- Be nationals of a West African country.
- Be less than 30 years old at the time of recruitment.
- Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a field relevant to EBID’s activities.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work under pressure in a multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to plan and determine priorities.
- Good research and information-gathering skills.
- Ability to obtain and analyse relevant information from electronic databases and other professional sources.
- Good knowledge of office automation systems, including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should be fluent in at least one of the Bank’s working languages, English, French or Portuguese, with a working knowledge of at least one of the other two languages.
CONTRACT AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Young professionals will be posted to different departments based on the Bank’s needs.
The programme is intended to expose participants to different areas of EBID’s operations and provide opportunities to develop their professional skills while contributing to the work of the Bank.
Selected candidates will be considered professional staff during their appointment and will be placed under the P1-1 grade of the EBID staff classification and salary scale.
BENEFITS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Young professionals will receive the applicable salary for the P1-1 grade.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to EBID headquarters in Lomé, Togo, for written and oral assessments.
Candidates may be assessed on:
- Technical skills
- Professional potential
- Personality and motivation
- Computer skills
- Verbal communication
- Written communication
- Knowledge of at least two of EBID’s three working languages
