ABOUT THE RECRUITMENT
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has announced the activation of the INECPRES online platform for interested applicants who wish to serve as ad hoc staff during the 2027 General Election.
The online recruitment exercise is scheduled to commence on Friday, 18 September 2026 at 8:00 AM and close on Wednesday, 18 November 2026 at 12:00 midnight.
Eligible applicants will be able to submit their applications through the INEC website and designated INECPRES platforms.
AD HOC POSITIONS
- SUPERVISORY PRESIDING OFFICERS SPOs
Potential sources of recruitment include:
Federal Public or Civil Servants on GL 10 to GL 14.
INEC Registration Area Officers RAOs and other eligible INEC staff who are not engaged in other duties.
Serving NYSC Corps Members.
Former NYSC Corps Members who completed their service not more than 3 years before the election, including those who served in 2024, 2025 or 2026.
Eligible students in Federal and State tertiary institutions, including students in their penultimate year and eligible students in years 2 and 3 of study.
- PRESIDING OFFICERS POs AND ASSISTANT PRESIDING OFFICERS APOs I, II AND III
Potential sources of recruitment include:
Eligible permanent staff of Federal and State MDAs with OND or NCE qualifications and the required grade level.
Eligible staff of Federal and State tertiary institutions.
Eligible students of tertiary institutions.
- RAC MANAGERS
Potential sources include:
Heads of schools or eligible staff of schools hosting Registration Area Centres RACs, subject to the applicable qualification and grade requirements.
Eligible INEC staff.
- REGISTRATION AREA TECHNICAL SUPPORT RATECHs
Potential sources include:
IT students from Federal and State tertiary institutions.
Former Corps Members who served with INEC, where available.
Suitable ICT staff of the Commission at State and Headquarters levels who are not engaged in current duties that would conflict with the assignment.
ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should carefully confirm that they fall within one of the eligible categories specified by INEC for the relevant ad hoc position.
Depending on the position, eligibility may be based on:
- Employment in Federal or State public institutions.
- INEC employment.
- Current or former NYSC service.
- Tertiary institution student status.
- Relevant academic qualifications such as OND, NCE or higher qualifications.
- Required grade levels for public servants and other eligible institutional staff.
- Relevant ICT background for RATECH positions.
- Availability to participate in the election assignment and any mandatory training or deployment activities.
