StarAgri is an agriculture-focused organisation working to strengthen farming systems, improve livelihoods and contribute to a more food-secure Africa.
The organisation is seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to coordinate the implementation of its Farmer Outgrower Programme in Jigawa State.
ROLE SUMMARY
The State Operations Coordinator will lead and coordinate field implementation of the Farmer Outgrower Programme, with responsibility for farmer enrollment, input distribution, recovery, commodity offtake and aggregation targets.
The role will also involve supervising field teams, maintaining accurate programme data, ensuring financial reconciliation and building effective relationships with relevant stakeholders and government institutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION AND FIELD OPERATIONS
Coordinate day-to-day implementation of the Farmer Outgrower Programme across Jigawa State.
- FARMER ENROLLMENT, INPUT DISTRIBUTION AND DATA MANAGEMENT
Lead farmer enrollment activities, coordinate input distribution and ensure accurate and timely programme data collection and reporting.
- RECOVERY AND FINANCIAL RECONCILIATION
Monitor recovery activities and support accurate financial reconciliation across programme operations.
- AGGREGATION, OFFTAKE AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Coordinate commodity aggregation and offtake activities while ensuring that quality and programme targets are maintained.
- TEAM SUPERVISION AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Lead, supervise and support field teams to ensure effective implementation and achievement of operational targets.
- STAKEHOLDER AND GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
Build and maintain productive relationships with farmers, government institutions, community stakeholders and other relevant partners.
- COMPLIANCE, RISK MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING
Support compliance with programme procedures, identify operational risks and contribute to regular programme reports and performance reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should have:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in agricultural outgrower programme operations, field operations or agricultural value-chain management.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team-leadership position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant data and reporting tools.
- A valid Nigerian driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Jigawa State.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate should be results-driven, organised and capable of coordinating field operations while managing teams, farmers, data, stakeholders and programme targets.
Experience in agricultural value chains and farmer outgrower programmes will be particularly relevant to the role.
