Qualified and experienced data collectors are invited to apply for a field research opportunity supporting the Mid-Term Evaluation of the EYEFON 2 Project in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.
The study will examine key issues affecting young people, including youth entrepreneurship, employability, livelihoods, and alternatives to irregular migration and human trafficking.
POSITION: DATA COLLECTOR
LOCATION: Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State
FIELDWORK PERIOD: 7th–12th September 2026
BRIEFING DATE: 5th September 2026

ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT
Selected data collectors will support the research team in gathering qualitative information from relevant respondents and communities within Ikot Ekpene.
The assignment will require field-based engagement, effective communication with participants, accurate documentation of responses and strict adherence to research ethics and confidentiality requirements.
The study is particularly focused on understanding the experiences and opportunities of young people in relation to entrepreneurship, employment, livelihoods and pathways that can provide alternatives to irregular migration and human trafficking.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Interested applicants should have:
• Previous experience in data collection, field research or similar assignments
• Experience conducting qualitative data collection
• Prior CRADI training is an advantage
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good community engagement and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in digital data collection tools
• Knowledge of research ethics and confidentiality
• Ability to accurately collect, record and submit field data
• Ability to work effectively as part of a research team
• Availability to participate in the mandatory briefing on 5th September 2026
• Availability for approximately 5 days of fieldwork from 7th–12th September 2026
• Must be a resident of Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
