Job Title: Program Manager

Location: Maiduguri, Borno State

Contract: 6 months, renewable

Start Date: 15 September 2026

Closing Date: 3 September 2026

Salary: €3,430 to €3,868 monthly gross

INTERSOS is seeking an experienced humanitarian professional to oversee the development, management, planning, implementation and monitoring of humanitarian programmes in Northeast Nigeria.

The Program Manager will work closely with the Field Coordinator and Program Coordinator or Head of Program to ensure quality programme delivery, donor compliance, financial management, reporting, team supervision, external representation and strategic programme development.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and monitor humanitarian programmes and project implementation

Develop programme workplans, budgets and financial plans

Monitor expenditure, budget utilisation and financial performance

Ensure compliance with INTERSOS and donor requirements

Coordinate project monitoring, evaluation and reporting

Conduct regular field visits to assess programme quality

Support proposal development and strategic programme growth

Coordinate with technical teams, partners, government stakeholders and humanitarian actors

Represent INTERSOS at relevant coordination meetings, clusters and donor engagements

Supervise, coach and develop programme staff

Support procurement, logistics and operational planning

Maintain strong relationships with communities, partners and relevant stakeholders

Requirements

Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, International Relations, Humanitarian and International Cooperation or a related field

Minimum 3 years of professional experience managing humanitarian projects or programmes, including financial management and logistics

Minimum 1 year of experience in multi-sector humanitarian programming and security context analysis

Experience working in complex emergency settings and insecure environments

Experience with donor compliance, reporting and government or donor engagement

Strong programme development, analytical and strategic skills

Good budget and financial management skills

Strong leadership, representation, negotiation and interpersonal skills

Fluency in English is essential

Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
