Sokoto with regular travel to project locations in Abuja Sokoto and Zamfara states

Job Objective

The Learning and Development Manager provides strategic and technical leadership in learning and development. The role focuses on planning and implementing systems and activities that build a skilled diverse and high performing workforce capable of achieving the country programme objectives effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Develop implement and continuously improve the learning and development strategy in alignment with operational and HR priorities

Lead annual planning and budget management for learning activities based on structured learning needs analysis

Support managers and supervisors to identify skills gaps and create effective learning environments

Design and implement learning solutions including training coaching mentoring onboarding and online learning

Promote equal access to learning opportunities and foster a culture of continuous development

Guide staff on career development pathways talent growth and succession planning

Ensure effective use of digital learning platforms and tools

Develop country specific guidelines for learning mobility and onboarding processes

Strengthen performance management by supporting objective setting and addressing performance gaps

Provide technical support and capacity building to HR managers and trainers at project level

Facilitate and support training sessions workshops and leadership development programmes

Conduct regular field visits to support implementation and follow up of learning activities

Collaborate with other MSF sections and partners to share best practices and tools

Ensure proper monitoring reporting and documentation of all learning activities

Requirements

Education

Degree in Human Resources Learning and Development Organizational Development or relevant field

Experience

Minimum of two years experience in a learning and development role

Experience in planning coordinating tracking and reporting learning activities

Experience conducting learning needs assessments and developing learning solutions

Previous experience with MSF or other international non governmental organizations is an advantage

Knowledge and Skills

Strong knowledge of learning and development tools methods and processes

Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint

Familiarity with survey tools virtual facilitation platforms and digital learning systems

Fluency in English language required knowledge of local languages is an added advantage
