Capacity Building Officer (CBO) – 3iS (Information Management Services), Abuja, Nigeria

3iS is a non-profit organization that provides information management services to humanitarian and development partners. Through innovative data systems and capacity strengthening, 3iS supports organizations and local authorities to better serve vulnerable populations and build sustainable, autonomous information systems.

3iS is currently recruiting a Capacity Building Officer (CBO) to support its country programme in Nigeria.

Job Title: Capacity Building Officer (CBO)
Location: Abuja, Nigeria (with travel across Northeast & Northwest Nigeria)
Contract Type: Local Employment Contract
Start Date: October 2026
Contract Duration: Approximately 6 months (subject to funding)
Salary Range: ₦2,100,000 – ₦2,400,000 (monthly gross)

Role Overview

The Capacity Building Officer will lead the design and delivery of training programmes and learning modules focused on information management systems within health and nutrition sectors. The role involves working closely with partners and government stakeholders to strengthen technical capacity, ensure system adoption, and improve data quality and use.

Key Responsibilities

Capacity Building & Training

• Design tailored training modules based on project tools and partner needs
• Deliver trainings (online and in-person) to health and nutrition stakeholders
• Conduct field visits across project locations for hands-on coaching and support
• Provide ongoing technical support to ensure sustainability of systems

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

• Develop and administer pre- and post-training assessments
• Conduct stakeholder surveys and track training effectiveness
• Produce training reports, analyses, and knowledge products
• Contribute to internal knowledge management systems

Resource Management & Planning

• Coordinate with HR, Finance, and Logistics teams for training delivery
• Support budget planning and resource allocation
• Ensure compliance with 3iS policies and operational standards

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Information Systems, or related field
• Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in capacity building within information management
• Experience in health and nutrition programmes
• Familiarity with systems such as DHIS2, HMIS, and nutrition reporting tools
• Proven track record in designing and delivering trainings

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong data and IT skills (Power BI, Tableau, KoBoToolbox, ODK, ONA)
• Experience in monitoring & evaluation practices
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and report-writing skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively in challenging operational environments

Language:

• Fluency in English (required)
