National Operations Specialist (SURAGGWA Project) – FAO Nigeria (Kano)
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is recruiting a National Operations Specialist to support the implementation of the SURAGGWA Project in Kano, Nigeria. This is a 12-month non-staff (National Project Personnel) position open to qualified Nigerian nationals.

Role Overview
The National Operations Specialist will provide operational, technical, and coordination support to ensure effective planning, execution, and monitoring of SURAGGWA project activities. The role involves close collaboration with government institutions, UN agencies, and implementing partners while ensuring compliance with FAO standards and timely delivery of outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project implementation, monitoring, and reporting in line with FAO procedures
- Liaise with government authorities, partners, and UN agencies
- Support development of policies, programmes, and project proposals
- Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial reporting
- Collect, analyse, and manage agricultural and food security data
- Assist in organizing field missions, stakeholder engagements, and project activities
- Prepare technical reports, advocacy materials, and communication outputs
- Support development of tools and frameworks for project implementation
- Supervise and guide junior staff where necessary
Minimum Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in agricultural development or project implementation
- Working knowledge of English and Hausa (Level C)
- Must be a Nigerian national
