As part of our commitment to sustainable growth and community empowerment, we are launching the Nigeria National Funding Program and are seeking a highly skilled Coordinator to lead this initiative.

Role Summary

The Coordinator for the Nigeria National Funding Program will serve as the primary administrator and strategist for our national grant-making and resource distribution efforts. This is a senior-level role designed for a professional who understands the nuances of the Nigerian non-profit landscape, financial accountability, and community development. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that funds are distributed equitably, managed transparently, and utilized effectively to achieve the foundation’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

The Coordinator will oversee the entire lifecycle of the funding program, starting from the design of call for proposals to the final impact assessment. Primary duties include the planning and implementation of the national funding framework to ensure it aligns with global Wikimedia standards and local community needs. A significant portion of the role involves managing complex relationships with strategic partners, grantees, and various internal and external stakeholders.

The Coordinator will provide hands-on support to grant applicants, offering technical guidance during the application process and providing oversight for projects once they are funded. Ensuring strict compliance with financial regulations and transparency standards is vital. This includes the review and verification of narrative and financial reports to ensure timely submission and accuracy. Furthermore, the Coordinator is expected to actively promote inclusive participation across all geopolitical zones of Nigeria, fostering a diverse and engaged national community.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, International Development, Public Administration, or Business Management. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of professional experience in a similar capacity is required. Specifically, we are looking for individuals with a proven track record in grants management, program coordination, or non-profit administration.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and the ability to work independently in a remote or nationwide capacity. Strong analytical skills, financial literacy, and experience in drafting comprehensive reports are essential. Applicants must have excellent communication skills to effectively manage relationships with diverse community members and organizational partners.
