About the role
The IPPC is recruiting a Report Writer to strengthen documentation and reporting of global plant‑health outcomes across IPPC Governing and Subsidiary Bodies. The successful candidate will produce clear, accurate and timely reports that support decision‑making, transparency and knowledge sharing across international plant‑health stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
– Draft, edit and finalize meeting reports, summaries, briefs and technical documents for Governing and Subsidiary Bodies.
– Synthesize inputs from meetings, discussions and submissions into coherent, well‑structured reports.
– Ensure consistency with IPPC editorial style, terminology and formatting requirements.
– Coordinate with secretariat staff, technical experts and meeting rapporteurs to verify facts and resolve ambiguities.
– Produce executive summaries and highlight key decisions, actions and follow‑up items.
– Support quality assurance, version control and timely dissemination of documents.
Required qualifications and skills
– Proven experience in professional report writing, technical writing or policy documentation.
– Excellent command of English, including advanced editing and proofreading skills.
– Strong ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly for diverse audiences.
– Proficiency with standard office and document‑production tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
– Strong interpersonal and coordination skills; ability to work collaboratively across time zones.
– Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple deliverables independently.
– Familiarity with international organizations, multilateral processes, or plant health issues is an advantage.
