Originally established to promote the rights of persons with albinism, the organization has evolved into a prominent voice for disability rights in Nigeria, contributing significantly to legislative action, policy reform, and the effective mainstreaming of inclusion.
Role Overview
TAF Africa is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Programme Manager to lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of projects that align with the organization’s thematic goals. The successful candidate will oversee project officers, consultants, and volunteers while ensuring high-level compliance and impactful delivery across all interventions.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive program strategies; collaborate with senior management to define program scopes, goals, and deliverables.
• Project Management: Manage the full lifecycle of projects from design to implementation; coordinate state offices to ensure seamless execution.
• Team Supervision: Oversee and evaluate the work of Project Officers, Consultants, and Volunteers to ensure peak performance.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure rigorous compliance with donor requirements and international standards; maintain meticulous documentation and reporting.
• Stakeholder & Partnership Management: Nurture relationships with partners and stakeholders; communicate project risks, progress, and outcomes effectively.
• Financial & Risk Management: Manage program budgets to ensure resource optimization; identify and mitigate potential project risks.
• Business Development: Proactively scan for funding opportunities relevant to the organization’s thematic focus.
• Quality Assurance: Establish M&E frameworks to monitor project outcomes against predefined benchmarks and ensure high-quality delivery.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
• Education: Post-graduate degree (Master’s or higher) in any Social Science discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in program management within the development sector.
• Communication: Exceptional report-writing skills and strong verbal/written communication abilities.
• Technical Skills: Advanced ICT proficiency.
• Interpersonal: Strong stakeholder management, decision-making, and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
• Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, Prince2).
• Demonstrable expertise in Data Analysis.
• Extensive knowledge of electoral reforms and democratic processes.
• Ability to communicate fluently in at least two major Nigerian languages.
