Vacancies at The Danish Refugee Council in Zamfara
The Danish Refugee Council is currently recruiting for the position of Economic Recovery Officer for a 12 month national contract based in Gusau Zamfara State Nigeria. The role reports to the Economic Recovery Team Leader and focuses on supporting humanitarian and livelihood interventions within the organization’s operations.
The selected candidate will support the implementation of Cash and Voucher Assistance including multipurpose cash assistance programmes while coordinating with stakeholders and internal teams. Responsibilities include beneficiary selection verification and registration as well as managing cash distributions and ensuring accountability safety and compliance with minimum standards. The role also involves monitoring market prices providing guidance on food security and nutrition and supervising activities related to malnutrition screening referrals and reporting.
In addition the officer will oversee community volunteers coordinate trainings and awareness activities and maintain proper documentation for reporting purposes. The position requires active engagement with stakeholders including local authorities NGOs and community leaders to ensure smooth project implementation. The candidate will also support monitoring and evaluation activities including data collection post distribution monitoring and participation in programme evaluations.
Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience in Cash and Voucher Assistance programming along with experience in food assistance and humanitarian settings particularly with displaced populations. Strong knowledge of protection principles accountability to affected populations and do no harm approaches is essential. Good organizational communication and reporting skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office are required.
