PROJECT FOCUS

Food Sovereignty, Nutrition and Inclusive Value Chains

SDI, a research and development firm headquartered in Canada, is seeking several Field Agents to support the implementation of a project focused on strengthening food systems, nutrition, community capacity, and inclusive value chains.

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT

Field Agents will support the installation and operationalization of:

1. 25 solar-powered agro-processing units.
2. Development of 5 or more value-added products from cowpea and peanuts.
3. Training of 600 women and youth on processing, quality, hygiene, packaging, storage, business management, and market linkages.
4. Training and support for 40 community relays and 6 municipal health workers.
5. Establishment of 15 Community Nutrition Monitoring and Vigilance Groups (CNMVGs).
6. Strengthening of local institutions, producer organizations, and entrepreneurs.
7. Diagnosis of financial barriers and development of financial inclusion mechanisms.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

1. Productivity and climate resilience of cowpea, peanut, and market gardening systems strengthened.
2. Capacities of 50 women- and youth-led producer organizations strengthened.
3. Diet and nutrition of 24,500 people improved, including through school canteens.
4. Institutional frameworks strengthened for sustainable food systems.

The project aligns with Niger Vision, PASA-Niger 2025–2027, and UNSDCF 2023–2027, contributing to SDGs 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, and 13.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. BEPC+2/3 to BAC+2 qualification.
2. Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.

3. Follow-up and technical coaching.
4. Monitoring and data collection.
5. Documentation of results and success stories.
6. Knowledge sharing.
