Propcom+ Recruitment: Monitoring and Research Assistants (MRAs) in 8 Nigerian States
Propcom+, an eight-year rural and agricultural market systems development programme funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and implemented by Palladium, is inviting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Monitoring and Research Assistant (MRA).
The programme promotes climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture and forestry while supporting improved livelihoods, food security, climate resilience and environmental sustainability across Nigeria.
Position: Monitoring and Research Assistant (MRA)
Number of Positions: Up to 2 per state
Locations
MRAs will be engaged in their state of residence in the following states:
- Jigawa
- Nasarawa
- Niger
- Plateau
- Taraba
- Yobe
- Oyo
- Ekiti
Scope of Work
Selected candidates will support Propcom+ Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) activities, including:
- Reviewing programme and MERL information, intervention results chains, indicators and guidelines.
- Participating in onboarding, orientation and supplementary training.
- Conducting data validation, verification and spot checks through field visits.
- Supporting data collection for commissioned studies and surveys.
- Collecting market information on agricultural inputs and produce prices.
- Attending programme events and activities within assigned states.
- Preparing activity-based and monthly reports with relevant supporting evidence.
Assignment Duration
The assignment will run from 16 September 2026 to 31 March 2027.
The engagement will be on a call-down basis, depending on programme requirements, with a maximum Level of Effort of 20 days per month for MRAs engaged during a month.
MRAs will report to the MERL Manager, with support from MERL Specialists and collaboration with intervention implementation teams.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A degree in Agriculture, Agricultural disciplines, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- Strong data collection skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, validation checks and preliminary pivot-table analysis.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word for preparing activity and monthly reports.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to speak and write English and relevant local languages of the assigned state.
- A functional laptop and Android mobile phone.
