VACANCY POSITIONS
The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions:

1. Accountant
EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners.
Qualifications
Candidates must:
• Be a Registered Town Planner with not less than twelve (12) years post-registration experience.
• Possess an additional qualification in an administration-related discipline, which will be an added advantage.
• Be proficient in ICT applications.
Duties
The successful candidate shall be responsible for:
• Handling secretariat duties on behalf of the National Secretary.
• General supervision of all secretariat functions, including staff supervision.
• Providing secretariat services and records for the National Executive Committee.
• Serving as a member of the National Council and providing secretariat support to the Council.
• Serving as Secretary to the Management Committee of the Institute.
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Management, National President, or National Secretary.
Conditions of Engagement
• The position is tenured for four (4) years and renewable for another four (4) years based on satisfactory performance.
• The Executive Secretary shall be paid a consolidated annual salary in accordance with the Institute’s salary scale, including basic salary and allowances for housing, transport, furniture, meal subsidy, and annual leave.
ACCOUNTANT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Accountant.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
• A first degree in Accountancy with evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
• Registration with ICAN or ANAN.
• Experience with accounting software and data entry.
• Sound understanding of accounting rules, procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to work independently with strong analytical skills.
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
• Reconciling bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers.
• Analysing employee expenditure.
• Managing income and expenditure accounts.
• Monitoring the Institute’s financial status.
• Filing and remitting taxes and other statutory financial obligations.
• Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the Institute.
TOWN PLANNING OFFICER I
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Town Planning Officer I.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
• A degree or HND in Urban and Regional Planning with relevant work experience. A higher degree is an added advantage.
• Registration with the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners with at least two (2) years post-registration experience.
• Proficiency in ICT applications.
Duties
The successful candidate shall:
• Develop and manage the affairs of the secretariat under the supervision of the Executive Secretary.
• Prepare reports, technical documents, applications, and presentations for decision-making.
• Provide professional advice on planning matters.
• Engage stakeholders, consult the public, and explain planning proposals.
• Support policy implementation and recommend innovative ideas for secretariat development.
• Handle secretariat duties on behalf of the Executive Secretary when required.
INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) OFFICER
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of ICT Officer.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or a Higher National Diploma.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, or AWS.
• Strong technical skills in networking, security, cloud computing, and server management.
• Proven problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills.
• Significant experience in specialized areas such as cybersecurity, cloud administration, or software development.
CLEANER
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Cleaner.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess WAEC, NABTEB, GCE, or SSCE with four (4) credits and two (2) passes, one of which must be English Language.
GARDENER
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Gardener.

Candidates must possess WAEC, NABTEB, GCE, or SSCE with four (4) credits and two (2) passes, one of which must be English Language.
