Position Overview
The Research Assistant will support the implementation of research and project activities under the INFORM Africa Research Hub grant. This role blends research, data analysis, and science communication, ensuring project outputs are well-documented and effectively communicated across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Scientific Writing
- Support the development of scientific publications, including literature reviews and manuscript drafting
- Contribute to grant writing and proposal development
Communication & Documentation
- Draft social media content, success stories, and event summaries
- Collaborate with the communications team to produce high-quality science communication materials
- Monitor and report engagement on digital platforms
Project Coordination & Reporting
- Assist in preparing grant reports and maintaining accurate project documentation
- Organize and update project files (including OneDrive folders)
- Take and submit detailed meeting minutes within specified timelines
Capacity Building & Logistics
- Support training sessions and capacity-building activities
- Prepare training materials and manage participant documentation
- Provide logistical support and post-event reporting
Data Management
- Assist in data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of project data
Additional Tasks
- Provide administrative and research support as assigned, including photography and grant tracking
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Microbiology or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year experience in scientific writing, research support, or project administration
- Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools
