About the Role
The Program Explorations Associate will support the design, testing, and scaling of new interventions aimed at increasing program impact. This is a field-intensive role, involving significant travel (approximately 12–15 weeks annually) to observe pilots, troubleshoot challenges, and engage stakeholders.
The role requires a highly analytical and adaptable individual who can translate field insights into operational improvements while working collaboratively across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Field Work & Stakeholder Engagement
- Observe pilot programs (e.g., ORS distribution, SMS reminders) and identify implementation gaps
- Conduct supervision visits and qualitative assessments with caregivers and health workers
- Engage with local and state government health officials
- Assess pilot execution before scaling recommendations
Internal Coordination
- Work with engineering teams to improve data collection tools
- Collaborate with operations teams on training and protocols
- Coordinate with stakeholder relations and audit teams
- Translate field insights into actionable recommendations
Program Design & Evidence
- Support randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and surveys in collaboration with partners
- Review research and synthesize program learnings
- Develop and monitor key program indicators
Eligibility Criteria
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, International Development, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in operations, research, M&E, or consulting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Willingness to travel within Nigeria
Preferred:
- Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, especially Nigeria
- Familiarity with impact evaluations or RCTs
- Background in NGOs, research, or global health programs
