About the International Budget Partnership (IBP)Ā
Around the world, public resources are being raised and spent unfairly and ineffectively, leaving millions of people without access to the quality public goods and services they need to thrive. Governments often make public resource decisions without meaningful public consultation or access to information, while those with power and privilege exert disproportionate influence over these decisions.Ā
The International Budget Partnership (IBP) exists to change this reality. Our goal is to ensure that governments raise and spend public money more fairly, so that everyone has the resources and opportunities they need to thrive and get ahead.Ā
To achieve this, IBP partners with budget analysts, community organizers, and advocates in more than 100 countries to advance public budget systems that work for people. Together, we generate evidence, advocate for reform, and build the skills and knowledge needed so that people can meaningfullyĀ participateĀ in budget decisions that affect their lives.Ā
IBP is a globally dispersed organization, with staff based in multiple countries and in-depth country work in Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, and Indonesia. IBP is a US-registered 501(c)(3) organization, with a branch office in Senegal and affiliates in the Netherlands, South Africa, and soon Nigeria. IBP has an annual budget of approximately USD 15 million and works closely with a diverse group of institutional donors to advance its mission.Ā
