The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is recruiting a Project Technical Assistant (Admin & Comms) to support the Promoting Local Response Capacities and Partnership (PLRCAP) initiative under NORCAP in Nigeria.

NRC is a humanitarian organisation with decades of experience supporting refugees and internally displaced people and advocating for the rights of displaced populations.

Contract: National contract, 6 months
Travel: Up to 15% within Nigeria
Reports to: PLRCAP Project Manager

About the Role

The Project Technical Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the PLRCAP team while contributing to communications and publicity activities.

PLRCAP supports Nigerian local and national civil society organisations through organisational development, technical assistance, mentoring, learning opportunities and institutional capacity strengthening.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide administrative and operational support while ensuring compliance with NRC policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate logistics, procurement, travel arrangements, meetings, scheduling and programme documentation.
  • Maintain project plans, calendars, action trackers, SharePoint records and other programme documentation.
  • Support the management and administration of the NGO Support Hub.
  • Assist with content management and day-to-day platform administration.
  • Create, edit and publish engaging content across digital and social media platforms.
  • Support the production of visual and multimedia content.
  • Promote learning resources, programme achievements, events and success stories.
  • Monitor social media performance, audience engagement and user feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to support learning, knowledge sharing and effective programme implementation.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

  • A University degree in Management, Social Sciences, Communications or another relevant field.
  • At least 1–2 years of professional experience in administration, operations, communications, project support or procurement.
  • Experience within an international NGO or humanitarian/development organisation is desirable.
  • Experience managing social media platforms, developing digital content and using content-management systems and analytics tools is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational, administrative, communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with content creation and design tools such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop.
  • Basic image or video editing experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in localisation, humanitarian action, crisis recovery, community resilience or civil society capacity strengthening is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian local languages is an advantage.

Eligibility

This position is open exclusively to Nigerian citizens holding a valid Nigerian passport.
