Job Vacancy: Program Officer – STRIDES Nigeria

FHI 360 is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Program Officer II to support the STRengthening Infectious Disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Nigeria project. The role will provide program management and administrative support at the state level to ensure effective project implementation, compliance, and timely delivery of project objectives.

Job Purpose

The Program Officer II will support the STRIDES Nigeria Country Project Director by providing administrative and program management assistance, monitoring project progress, coordinating with technical teams, tracking subgrantee deliverables, supporting compliance, preparing presentations, and assisting with budget tracking. The role ensures project activities are delivered on schedule, within scope, and in line with donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide programmatic administration support including coordination of meetings, preparation of reports, and tracking project deliverables
  • Collect, compile, and analyze project data and metrics for reporting and decision-making
  • Support compliance oversight and documentation in line with internal and external regulations
  • Monitor subgrantee deliverables and support capacity-building as needed
  • Facilitate communication between partners, project staff, and stakeholders
  • Assist with budget monitoring, financial tracking, and coordination with internal finance and contracts units
  • Maintain electronic and physical project files and manage project calendars
  • Support project communications and other administrative duties as required

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in NGOs, government agencies, or private organizations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong oral and written communication, problem-solving, organizational, and reporting skills
  • Fluency in English required
