💼 Position Summary

The Program Associate, Strategic Impact Evaluation and Learning (SIEL) supports a six-year partnership involving the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), IPA, and Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL).

The role contributes to building a strong evidence base for global development programmes and strengthening the use of impact evaluations across key thematic areas: economic growth, humanitarian assistance, climate and nature, and conflict and fragility.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

1. Research Fund Coordination (40%)

  • Coordinates competitive funding processes, including drafting calls for proposals and managing reviews
  • Tracks grant and project progress through regular communication and deliverable reviews
  • Maintains accurate project records using Salesforce
  • Ensures compliance with donor reporting requirements
  • Supports proposal screening for review boards

2. Project Development (30%)

  • Assists in developing new research and programme proposals
  • Coordinates collaboration between FCDO teams, researchers, and country offices
  • Engages internal departments (grants, finance, legal, operations)
  • Facilitates partnerships and project matchmaking

3. Communications and Policy (20%)

  • Supports dissemination of research findings and policy materials
  • Assists in organizing events, training sessions, and workshops
  • Contributes to website updates and knowledge-sharing activities

4. General Program Administration (10%)

  • Supports financial monitoring and administrative tasks
  • Contributes to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) tracking and implementation

🎓 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in research/project management or related areas
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of impact evaluation methodologies
  • Experience in policy writing, research summaries, or evidence synthesis
  • Familiarity with Excel and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Knowledge of sectors such as humanitarian aid, climate, or conflict

🌐 Language Requirement

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

💰 Compensation

  • U.S.-based salary range: $53,000 – $69,000 annually
  • Compensation for Africa-based roles is aligned with local market rates
