Follow The Money (FTM), the largest social accountability movement in Africa and a flagship initiative of Connected Development (CODE), is officially inviting applications for the position of State Lead across all thirty-six states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory. We are searching for credible, committed, and community-rooted citizens who are ready to champion the cause of transparency, accountability, and people-powered governance.

ABOUT THE ROLE OF STATE LEAD
The State Lead position is a high-impact leadership role within the FTM structure. As a State Lead, you will serve as the primary representative of the movement in your state. You will be at the forefront of the fight against corruption and abandoned projects at the grassroots level. This role is for individuals who possess a deep sense of integrity and a passion for social justice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Community Mobilization and Sensitization: You will lead efforts to mobilize local communities, teaching them how to use budgetary information to demand better services and monitor government projects in their own backyards.
2. Grassroots Monitoring and Tracking: You will coordinate on-ground monitoring activities to track the implementation of public projects in sectors such as health, education, and water/sanitation. This involves visiting project sites, taking photos, and interviewing community members.
3. Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: As the face of FTM in your state, you will engage with local government authorities, traditional rulers, and community leaders to advocate for open government and inclusive project implementation.
4. Communication and Reporting: You will be responsible for serving as the bridge between the grassroots and the national FTM structure. This includes providing regular data, field reports, and human-interest stories to the national headquarters to amplify community voices.
5. Volunteer Management: You will build, inspire, and manage a dedicated team of volunteers and community champions within your state, ensuring the movement grows and remains sustainable.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:
– A strong belief in transparency, accountability, and the power of active citizenship.
– Proven experience in community organizing, social activism, or civil society engagement.
– Excellent leadership, communication, and public speaking skills.
– Deep familiarity with the geography, local languages, and social dynamics of your specific state.
– Ability to remain objective, non-partisan, and professional in all advocacy efforts.
– Proficiency in using digital tools and social media to advocate for social change.
