About the Role
The Assistant Field Manager will support Field Managers in delivering cash-transfer disbursements at selected public clinics, with the goal of increasing infant immunization coverage and retention.
The successful candidate will help ensure high-quality programme operations at assigned clinics while providing leadership and supervision to selected Field Officers.
The role also involves maintaining positive working relationships with employees, clinic staff, government health officials, and other programme stakeholders.
Assistant Field Managers will supervise Field Officers working at clinics across the organization’s states of operation.
Candidates should primarily reside in, or have access to free accommodation in, one of the towns or Local Government Areas within the states of operation and must be willing to relocate where required.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Field Manager will:
- Support Field Managers with cash-transfer disbursements at public clinics.
- Ensure high-quality programme implementation at selected clinics.
- Supervise and provide leadership to Field Officers.
- Help improve immunization coverage and retention among infants.
- Work closely with clinic staff and other stakeholders.
- Support programme operations in remote clinics and field locations.
- Manage and account for programme funds carefully.
- Collect, review, synthesize, and interpret relevant health data.
- Maintain effective communication with staff and programme stakeholders.
- Support the organization’s efforts to reduce infant mortality through increased immunization uptake.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of an ND, preferably in Health, Natural Sciences, or a related field.
- Fluency in local languages/dialects spoken in the states of operation, particularly Hausa.
- Candidates must state the languages/dialects they speak and their fluency levels in their cover letters.
- Willingness to work at remote public clinics and field locations for at least four days per week.
- Experience with the Nigerian healthcare system and clinic documentation, particularly infant health and vaccination records.
- Experience collecting, synthesizing, and drawing conclusions from health data is desirable.
- Strong attention to financial matters and fund management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and relevant Hausa dialects.
- Strong responsiveness to email and telephone requests.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, internet browsers, smartphones, and modern communication technologies.
- Good managerial and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a young, rapidly changing organization.
- Hard-working, diligent, detail-oriented, loyal, and result-oriented.
- Passion for helping communities and contributing to the reduction of infant mortality.
Speaking additional local languages used in the organization’s areas of operation will be an advantage.
