Job Title: Regional Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

Location: Kano, Nigeria

Role Overview

The Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will work closely with the regional team and report directly to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager based in Abuja. The role is critical to ensuring effective data management, supporting service delivery teams, and strengthening the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) across the region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting service delivery data to support informed decision-making and program effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & MIS Support:

  • Coordinate the collation of monthly service statistics across all service delivery points
  • Train and support regional staff on the use of MIS platforms such as ORION (DHIS) and CLIC databases
  • Promote the use of data validation and performance monitoring tools
  • Ensure availability and proper use of updated data collection tools across facilities
  • Track and improve data reporting compliance across service delivery teams

Research & Evaluation Support:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of research studies, including baseline, mid-term, and impact evaluations
  • Support the development of data collection tools and methodologies
  • Participate in data collection, entry, and analysis processes
  • Supervise and train data collection personnel
  • Support pilot studies and surveys as required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Management Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar role
  • Experience in training non-technical staff on data systems is an added advantage
  • Familiarity with Nigeria’s public and private healthcare systems, especially in rural settings
  • Experience with donor-funded programs (e.g., DFID) is a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative data analysis
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to travel for field monitoring, audits, and training
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and within teams
