Since 2017, we have been active in Nigeria, particularly in the Northeast, including Borno, Taraba, and Adamawa States. Our programs focus on water, sanitation, and hygiene, protection, and food, nutrition, security, and livelihoods.

In Katsina State, we are seeking to recruit a Finance and Admin Assistant. This is a national position responsible for supporting the financial and administrative needs of the Katsina Area, working closely with the Finance Team at the Country Office to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance and Admin Assistant will:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including vouchers, receipts, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and process payment vouchers while ensuring full compliance with organizational financial policies and donor requirements.
  • Support cash and bank transactions, including petty cash management, reconciliations, and cash counts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and ensure proper filing and archiving of financial documents.
  • Provide general administrative support, including managing correspondence, maintaining filing systems, and organizing office documentation.
  • Support procurement and logistics processes, including vendor management, supply tracking, and documentation of goods and services.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and assist in audit processes while maintaining confidentiality of all financial and administrative information.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience, preferably in an NGO or development sector setting.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles, financial procedures, and administrative support practices.
  • Prior experience in administrative support roles will be an advantage.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Contract Details and Benefits

  • The position is for a ten-month contract, with the start date subject to funding for the upcoming project.
  • Duty station will be in Katsina, Katsina State, Nigeria.
  • Salary will be in line with the Malteser International salary scale.
  • Additional benefits include group life insurance, health insurance package (single or family coverage), and thirteenth month pay.
  • Leave entitlements include annual leave, compensation leave, academic leave, wedding leave, and compassionate leave.
