1. Batcher Assistant

About the Role
The Batcher Assistant is responsible for overseeing the concrete batching process to ensure that raw materials are mixed in the correct proportions and meet approved specifications before dispatch to plants or construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
– Ensure full compliance with Lafarge Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards
– Conduct regular BOG/VPCs in plants and offices with proper documentation
– Coordinate daily toolbox meetings and maintain records
– Liaise with the Safety Department to ensure timely distribution of PPEs
– Confirm daily orders with Sales Representatives and coordinate delivery schedules with customers
– Create and manage daily customer orders in LOGON
– Operate batching systems (BCMIX/LOGON/SAP) in line with quality procedures
– Ensure all ready-mix concrete meets customer specifications (volume and grade)
– Conduct daily and monthly production closures on BCMIX
– Perform daily first-level inspections on plant equipment
– Monitor weighbridge activities including truck weigh-in/out and volume checks
– Communicate plant downtime, delivery delays, and site issues to stakeholders
– Collaborate with plant teams to ensure proper risk assessments are conducted
– Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Coordinator

Requirements
– OND qualification with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a concrete batching plant
– Good understanding of ready-mix concrete batching processes
– Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

2. Operations Coordinator, Readymix

About the Role
The Operations Coordinator is accountable for the overall performance of the ready-mix plant, including operational efficiency, budget management, regulatory compliance, and health and safety leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment
– Ensure full compliance with Lafarge HSE standards
– Conduct regular VPCs and report incidents, near misses, and audits
– Lead site improvement plans and ensure closure of audit actions
– Organize weekly toolbox meetings and promote housekeeping standards
– Manage statutory permits and regulatory documentation

Operations & Inventory Management
– Coordinate inspections of customer sites and resolve service-related issues
– Conduct regular plant walk-arounds with operators and technicians
– Manage inventory of raw materials, spares, and consumables in SAP
– Ensure availability of critical spares and timely material replenishment
– Liaise with logistics teams to manage truck movements and delivery schedules

Maintenance
– Organize weekly maintenance meetings and review job cards
– Plan, track, and close maintenance work orders
– Monitor planned and unplanned plant downtime

People Management
– Conduct performance reviews and appraisals
– Identify training needs and develop team capabilities
– Provide leadership and mentorship to plant personnel

Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ready-mix concrete operations
– Strong supervisory, communication, and analytical skills
– Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office tools
– Postgraduate qualification is an added advantage

About the Role
The Sales Administrator serves as the primary customer contact for Alternative Fuels & Raw Materials (AFR), supporting sales operations and ensuring efficient coordination of sales and marketing activities.

– Good understanding of safety laws and regulations
